PARTICIPATION OF PROTEOLYTIC ENZYMES IN RADIATION-INDUCED
APOPTOSIS OF RAT’S THYMOCYTES

Participation of proteolytic enzymes, especially, caspases and calpains in rat’s thymocytes under apoptosis induced by X-ray exposure has been investigated. The increase of caspase-3, caspase-6 and calpains activity 30 min and 3 h after irradiation is accompanied by enhancing of the number of cell at early and final stages of apoptosis, which was identified both at the level of plasmatic membrane and at the level of nuclear compartment.
